
Women’s Golfers Represented on WGCA All-American Scholar Team
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s golf was well represented on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday. Now a four-time selection, Julia Gregg made the list along with three-time selection Kajal Mistry and rising sophomore Reagan Zibilski.
Gregg, Mistry and Zibilski are three of 1,401 women’s collegiate golfers across all divisions recognized for this honor. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur on the team’s roster through the close of the team’s season and have played in 50 percent of the collegiate’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Head coach Shauna Taylor continues to coach a group of women who achieve success both on and off the golf course. Coming off her 16th season at the helm, this year became the 14th year, seventh consecutively, at least one of her student-athletes was named a WGCA All-American Scholar Athlete. The women’s golf team also led all Arkansas women’s sports with the highest GPA in the spring at 3.583.
Julia Gregg
Gregg has been tabbed as a WGCA All-American Scholar for the fourth straight season. Gregg graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance (financial management investment/supply chain management) in May, doing so with a 3.533 cumulative GPA. Being a steady part in the rotation at the latter part of the season, Gregg played in 20 rounds and posted a 75.15 scoring average. One of her best performances this season came at the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional, where she cared a 5-over 221 (73-74-74) to tie for 19th. Going into her fifth year, Gregg has played in 95 rounds to average a 74.32 scoring average.
Kajal Mistry
Mistry has made her third appearance on the WGCA Scholar All-America list, also recently graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in marketing with a 3.533 cumulative GPA. With a 73.66 scoring average across playing all 29 rounds, Mistry tied for the most rounds at par or under with 10 and boasted the most rounds in the 60s with three. She capped off her season with an even 216 (74-73-69) at the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional to place fifth. Mistry is the only golfer on the squad to have played in over 100 rounds with 107 and has logged a 73.79 career scoring average as she approaches her fifth season of collegiate golf.
Reagan Zibilski
Zibilski got her collegiate career started on the right foot, ending the spring semester with a 3.800 GPA as a pre-business major. Going into her sophomore year, Zibilski has posted a 3.625 cumulative GPA. Zibilski played in 20 rounds as a freshman, including in all four fall tournaments and the last three events of the season. She was fourth on the team in scoring average at 74.80 and achieved five rounds at par or under. She finished the season on a positive note with a career-low 3-over 219 (75-75-69) at the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional to tie for 14th.
Meghan Royal also became a first-time WGCA All-America Scholar, tallying a 3.80 GPA during the spring and a 3.613 cumulative GPA as a freshman advertising/public relations major.
