Amanda Fassold earns SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – After sharing the collegiate leading mark the previous week, Amanda Fassold’s winning performance to take sole possession of the collegiate leading mark for 2023 earned her SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Vaulting in Albuquerque, Fassold improved her indoor career best to 14-10.75 (4.54). That places her at No. 12 on the all-time collegiate list, where she joins four other Razorbacks, and No. 10 on the American collegiate list.

Now No. 5 on the UA all-time indoor pole vault list, Fassold bettered her previous PR of 14-7.25 (4.45) with a clearance of 14-8.75 (4.49) before her winning height.

Two professional vaulters in the field tied for second place, each clearing 14-6.75 (4.44), a height that Fassold passed during the competition.

Fassold is also No. 14 on the 2023 world list, which is currently headed by Arkansas alum Tina Šutej at 15-9.75 (4.82).

Šutej, who had a collegiate indoor best of 14-11 that ranks No. 11 all-time, is one of the five Razorback vaulters among the top 12 on the all-time collegiate list. The UA group includes Lexi Jacobus (No. 3 | 15-4.25), Sandi Morris (No. 4 | 15-3.5), and Tori Hoggard (No. 6 | 15-1.5).

Combined the Arkansas crew has a total of 28 performances among the top 48 marks all-time.
