Arkansas leads with 34 entries into NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE – No. 5 Arkansas has a national-leading 34 entries into the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships as 29 athletes contest 13 events. The NCAA West Preliminary rounds will be contested on Thursday, May 25, and Saturday, May 27, at Sacramento State.

Following the Razorbacks with 33 entries each are No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Oregon while No. 2 Florida has 31 entries.

Contesting 13 of 21 events in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the Razorbacks have multiple entries in nine of those 13 events, with one entry only allowed in the two relay events.

Top seeds in the NCAA West include Britton Wilson in the 400m and 400m hurdles along with Ackera Nugent in the 100m hurdles.

Razorbacks seeded among the top 12, which is the number of athletes per event who will advance to Austin, include Rosey Effiong (400m), Aaliyah Pyatt (400m), Nickisha Pryce (400m), Paris Peoples (400m), Sydney Thorvaldson (5,000m), Madison Langley-Walker (100m hurdles, 400m hurdles), Laura Taborda (3,000m steeplechase), Amanda Fassold (pole vault), Mackenzie Hayward (pole vault), along with both relay events.

Arkansas qualified eight individuals in the 400m along with five in the pole vault. There are four Razorbacks in the 5,000m and three in the 100m hurdles.
