Arkansas opens outdoor season at UTSA Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE – A week after placing fourth at the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Razorbacks open their outdoor season at the UTSA Invitational on Saturday.
Teams scheduled to compete in San Antonio this weekend include Texas and Texas A&M along with Incarnate Word, Northern Arizona, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Our Lady of the Lake, Southwestern Oklahoma State, TAMU-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, and UTSA.

A featured event, the 400m, includes a mix of Razorbacks and alums with Amber Anning and Shafiqua Maloney racing in the final section along with Analisse Batista, Arianna Sharpe, and Amirah Sharpe. The fourth of five sections includes Saira Prince, Abigail Campbell, Taejha Badal, and Morgan Herbst.
Arkansas will have a crew of four in the 100m hurdles with Prince, Simone Ballard, Gabriella Cunningham, and Herbst. Kaylyn Brown is scheduled to race in the 100m along with alum Taliyah Brooks. Ballard will also contest the 400m hurdles.
Competing in the 200m are Heidi Hudson, Bregan Blowers, Cunningham, Ryan Jennings, Campbell, Sanaria Butler, Amirah Sharpe, Arianna Sharpe, Badal, Brown, and Anning.
Makenna Herbst and Madeleine Gear will race at 800m while Josphine Mwaura is entered in the 1,500m.
In field events, Maria Arboleda and Savanah Byers compete in the high jump while Hanna Estes is in the pole vault.
