
Arkansas Stumbles at #8/9 Texas A&M
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With the game tied at 50-50, #8/9 Texas A&M went on a 9-0 run and held on for a 69-61 win over Arkansas at Reed Arena.
With the game tied, Wade Taylor IV hit a 3-pointer, Anderson Garcia made two baskets and Henry Coleman capped the run with a layup off a Razorback turnover with 5:08 to play.
Arkansas stayed close but could not make a push despite a pair of 3-pointers by Zvonimir Ivisic down the stretch.
The Razorbacks held Texas A&M in check on the boards and blocked eight shots, including four by Ivisic. However, Arkansas committed 17 turnovers, its second-most of the season as the Aggies outscored the Hogs, 22-7, on points off turnovers,
Karter Knox led Arkansas with 17 points, his best output in an SEC game this season and second-best effort of the season. Ivisic added 13 points and Adou Thiero had 10. Ivisic and Billy Richmond III each had six rebounds
Taylor led A&M with 18 points and nine assists. Zhuric Phelps added 12 points and Anderson Garcia, who was +27 in the eight-point win, scored 11 points with four offensive rebounds.
Arkansas stays on the road to play at current #1/2 Auburn on Wednesday.
FIRST HALF: Arkansas: 28 – Texas A&M: 33
- Arkansas started the game on an 8-0 run, out-rebounding the Aggies 6-3. A&M Answered with an 9-0 run.
- After those initial runs, neither team led by more than five with Texas A&M leading for 11 minutes and Arkansas leading for eight.
- Arkansas held Texas A&NM to just five first-half offensive boards the Aggies out-rebounded the Razorbacks 18-14 overall.
- Arkansas committed 10 first-half turnovers compared to six for A&M.
- Karter Knox led Arkansas with nine points, going 4-of-5 from the field. Billy Richmond III led the Hogs with four rebounds.
- Zhuric Phelps led Texas A&M with seven points and six rebounds..

SECOND HALF: Arkansas: 33 – Texas A&M: 36
- Arkansas out-rebounded the Aggies, 18-17 in the second half.
- Both team shot better. A&M shot 46.7%, getting 8 assists on 14 made baskets, while Arkansas shot 44.4%, getting seven assists on 12 made baskets.
- Ivisic had three of his four blocks in the second half. He led Arkansas with 10 second-half points and five rebounds.
GAME NOTES:
- For the fifth-straight game, Arkansas’ starting lineup was D.J. Wagner, Johnell Davis, Karter Knox, Adou Thiero and Zvonimir Ivisic.
