
Arkansas Travels To Atlanta For Georgia Tech Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Swimming and Diving team travels to Atlanta, Georgia, this week to participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational for the third consecutive season after winning the invite last season and finishing second two years ago.
The invite will begin on Thursday, Nov. 17 and run through Saturday, Nov. 19. Prelims will begin each day of competition at 9 a.m. CT inside the McAuley Aquatic Center, home of the 1996 Olympic Games. Event finals will follow at 4:30 p.m. CT.
Joining the Razorbacks are four other SEC teams (Alabama, Auburn, Florida and South Carolina) along with BYU (diving), Clemson (diving), Campbell, East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech to round out the 12 team invite.
FORMAT
The meet will be conducted under NCAA rules, running short course yards for all sessions. All individual events will swim as prelims and finals except the 1650 Freestyle (timed finals). All finals will consist of three heats (non-scoring bonus, Consolation & Championship) of 10 individuals each heat. All relays will compete in finals, with the last heat being seeded with all “A” relay teams.
SCORING
Championship scoring format will be in use as scores through 20 places will be counted and relay scores are doubled.
