Arkansas’ Trio Shines on Friday

ATLANTA, Ga. — Arkansas had a fantastic Friday slate of action, topped off by Majo Sanchez placing 8th in both 3-meter preliminary and finals action with a finals score of 320.85.

Sanchez’s outing marks the first Razorback diver to appear in a Championships Final since 2019, where Brooke Schultz placed 4th in 1-meter and 2nd in 3-meter. The Mexico City native finally got over the hump and made her NCAA Championship Finals debut. The sophomore came close last season on 3-meter as she ended in 13th place.

“The last two days have been amazing for Razorback diving,” head diving coach Abel Sanchez said. “Majo dove extremely consistently in prelims, earning her a spot in the finals. Majo has now achieved her second NCAA All-American award. Majo is typically a platform diver, which means this is her first big springboard finals. I am so happy for her.”

Fellow diver, Lotti Hubert, had another strong performance to close out her sophomore campaign. The Berlin native placed 20th in 3-meter diving with a score of 296.85.

“Yesterday on 1-meter, Lotti finished 10th overall and earned herself All-American status,” Sanchez added. “After a season like last year, I am so proud of Lotti for what she has done and where she has come from. She has an amazing story to tell at the end of her journey.”

The Darlington, England, native Harriet Rogers showed out in her first action of the NCAA Championships with a 16th place finish in the 50 freestyle.

Rogers’ time of 21.75 topped her own personal best in the event, along with marking a new program second-best time. Rogers had set the previous second fastest time a month ago at the SEC Championships with a time of 21.80.

“It was a great day for the Razorbacks,” head coach Neil Harper said. “Harriet went for a personal best, became an Honorable Mention All-American and added to our point total. Majo was very good this morning and qualified for the final tonight — it was her first NCAA final, and she gained amazing experience and became an NCAA All-American. All three ladies have now become All-Americans and contributed to our point total. We still have two events tomorrow, and we are excited for the opportunity to finish the championships strong.”

NCAA Championship action concludes tomorrow, with two entries remaining for the Hogs. Rogers is set to compete in the 100 freestyle and Sanchez will take on platform diving.

Live coverage will be streamed on ESPN+ with live results on the MeetMobile app and DiveMeets.com.
