FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas welcomes Texas State, which is 10-1 and winners of eight straight, to Bud Walton Arena on Saturday (Dec. 22). The game will be telecast on the SEC Network and tip-off is set for 1 pm. Prior to game, SEC Network will show the one-hour documentary, “40 Minutes of Hell”. ”

The Razorbacks and Bobcats have met on three previous occasions with Arkansas winning all three including a 90-68 victory in December 2001, a 70-60 victory in December 2002 and a 73-67 victory in December 2005.

This will be Arkansas’ final contest prior to the Christmas break and the Razorbacks have won each of their last 10 games prior to the holiday. In fact, Arkansas is 14-4 in such games dating back to 2000. Two of those losses came away from Bud Walton as Arkansas lost to then #6 Oklahoma State, 85-76, in 2001 in North Little Rock and lost the then #18 at Oklahoma, 88-79, in 2000. This will be the second time Arkansas has faced Texas State in the teams’ final game before Christmas with the Razorbacks defeating the Bobcats, 70-60, on Dec. 21, 2002.

After the game, Arkansas athletics will show the movie “Home Alone” on the Bud Walton Arena video boards. There is no extra charge to stay and watch the movie. A selected concessions menu will be available.

  • Arkansas ranks third in the NCAA in blocked shots (6.4) and 13th nationally in assists (18.4). The Razorbacks also lead the SEC in 3-point field goal defense (.301).
  • Texas State is 15th in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense, 16 in scoring defense, 18th in rebound margin and 21st in assists per game. Nijal Pearson is 16th nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (.493).
  • Jalen Harris ranks second in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (6.55). He additionally ranks seventh in the NCAA (1st in the SEC) in assists per game (7.2).
  • Isaiah Joe ranks fifth in the NCAA in 3-pointers made per game (4.1). The freshman also leads the SEC in total 3-pointers made (41) and is second in 3-point field goal percentage (.461).
