Cothern, Ferraguti, Wizard to Represent Razorbacks at NCAA Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The NCAA Championship selection committee has announced the list of competitors for the NCAA Championships, set to take place in Athens, Georgia. Three athletes will represent the Razorbacks: Bella Cothern, Betsy Wizard, and Alessia Ferraguti.
Cothern will swim the 50 and 100 Freeestyle as well as the 100 Fly, having posted NCAA B-Standard times in all three events. She is the first Razorback since Anna Hopkin (in 2019) to represent the team at the NCAA Championships in the 50 and 100 Free. Cothern has represented the Hogs at the NCAA Championships the past two seasons as part of the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay in 2022 and 2023 as well as the 200 Medley Relay in last season’s NCAA Championships
Betsy Wizard will compete in the 100 and 200 Fly, and she is the first Razorback to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships for a Butterfly event since Chelsea Tatlow in 2017. This will be Wizard’s first time representing the Hogs at the NCAA Championships.
Alessia Ferraguti, coming off a spectacular performance at the SEC Championships, will swim the 100 and 200 Breast. Ferraguti was part of the 2023 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay as well as the 200 Medley Relays that represented the Razorbacks in last year’s NCAA Championships.
