
Dusty Hannahs Named to Team USA
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Basketball recently announced that former Razorback Dusty Hannahs will be part of 12-man roster for the February 2023 USA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Team.
The USA will play two games as part of its sixth and final qualifying window leading into the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup. The United States can punch its ticket to the World Cup with a win, among other possible qualification routes. The United States will play Uruguay in Montevideo, Uruguay, on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7:10 pm (ET) before traveling to Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, to play Brazil on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 7:10 pm (ET).
The 12 athletes slated to compete for the USA have professional experience in the NBA, NBA G League and international leagues with just over half of the team having prior USA Basketball experience.
Hannahs has appeared in 28 games (20 starts) this season for the Santa Cruz Warriors and averages of 17.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 30.9 minutes per game.
Hannahs, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019, is currently in his third stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League. He has played for the Memphis Hustle in the G League and played one season in Australia for the Adelaide 36ers.
This will be Hannahs second trip to Uruguay as he played for the NBA G League Elite Team at the G League International Challenge.
The Little Rock native (Pulaski Academy) played two seasons at Arkansas (2015-17) after starting his career at Texas Tech. He led the Hogs in scoring both of his seasons in Fayetteville (16.5 ppg asa junior and 14.4 ppg as a senior) and scored 1,047 points for the Razorbacks. He shot an impressive 41% from 3-point range (155-of-378) and shot just under 90% from the free throw line (208-of-234 for a percentage of 88.9).
