Ferraguti Earns SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alessia Ferraguti earned SEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors for her stellar performance against the Kentucky Wildcats in the Razorback team’s season opener.

Ferraguti placed first in the 100 and the 200 Breaststroke with times of 1:01.31 and 2:13.56 respectively. She was also part of the Razorbacks’ first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay and a second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Head Swimming Coach Neil Harper reflected on Ferraguti’s accomplishment and what this means for her moving forward: “This is a great achievement for Alessia and our program. She has improved so much in less than a year and was instrumental in helping our team beat Kentucky.” Harper commented on Ferraguti’s drive for success, stating that “she is focused for a big year and obviously her dedication and competing at the World University Games this summer has prepared her for greater expectations and levels of success this year!” Ferraguti’s finishes in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke were also good for NCAA B-cut times.

The Razorbacks will be back in action on October 12 at 3:00 PM in Baton Rouge, La. as they take on SEC opponent LSU in their first away meet of the season.
