Flowers Headed To Super Bowl LI
Former Arkansas All-SEC defensive lineman and current New England Patriot Trey Flowers advanced to Super Bowl LI Sunday night when the Patriots defeated the Steelers in the AFC Championship.
Flowers chipped in three tackles and a third down quarterback hurry to help lead the Patriots to their second Super Bowl in the last three years. Over the Patriots’ two playoff wins, Flowers has totaled 10 tackles, highlighted by seven in the win over the Houston Texans last weekend.
Flowers will look to become the 25th former Razorback to win the Super Bowl as a player on the active roster.
Selected in the 4th round in the 2015 NFL Draft by New England, Flowers turned in a breakout second season that featured a team-high seven sacks and 45 tackles. All seven of his sacks came over a 7-game stretch from the end of October through mid-December and included multi-sack efforts at Buffalo, against Seattle and at Denver.
