Hogs Battle Through Day 1 of Two-Day Meet in Texas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks battled it out with TCU and SMU in Fort Worth for the first day of a two-day meet. The Razorbacks outscored SMU 131.50 to 97.50, but they were outscored by TCU 146 to 83.
The Razorbacks took home event wins in the 50 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle Relay. Bella Cothern posted a 23.24 finish in the 50 Freestyle. Cothern also swam the leadoff leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay, followed by Gracie Colvin, Allie Thome, and Delaney Harrison, who combined for a 1:33.94 finish.
On the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, the Razorbacks posted a handful of solid scores. Maria Jose Sanchez Won the 3-meter competition, scoring 345.60. Malea Martinez and Lauren French followed Sanchez, posting scores of 315.15 and 303.60 respectively, all NCAA Zone Diving qualifying scores. In the 1-meter, Lotti Hubert earned a 2nd-place finish, scoring 306.70, an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying score. Maria Jose Sanchez notched a 3rd-place finish with 305.00 points.
The Razorbacks will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, November 2nd at 10:00am in Dallas at SMU’s Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.
