Hogs Fall to Jayhawks in Final Road Dual Meet of the Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas swim and dive team dropped Friday’s matchup with Kansas by a score of 163-137.

Junior Harriet Rogers had another successful outing, placing first in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Senior Sydney Craft picked up another win in the 1,000 freestyle and junior Tammy Greenwood placed first in the 200 freestyle.

“This was a great college dual meet between two rivals,” head coach Neil Harper said. “In swimming and diving all you can control is your own performances. Kansas performed very well today. Our team made me proud in their effort, belief and execution. We are right where we need to be in preparation for SEC’s and will continue our focus for Vanderbilt and the post season.”

Over on the springboards, sophomore Majo Sanchez shined, sweeping the diving events on the day. Sanchez scored a 297.98 on 1-meter and a 318.30 on 3-meter.

“I am proud of the divers, they dove well,” head diving coach Abel Sanchez. “This is a challenging pool to compete in, and it’s always good to see the divers under adverse conditions. Go Hogs.”

The Hogs return to action for their final home meet on Jan. 30-31 as they take on SEC opponent Vanderbilt in swimming and North Texas in diving.
