Hogs Fall to No. 14 Auburn
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks fell to a very talented Auburn team by a score of 89-208. “Auburn was good, sharp, and fast today,” said Coach Neil Harper of the Auburn team’s performance.
“We fought hard to race as fast as we could go today,” said Harper, and the Hogs’ times reflected that. Although Auburn picked up the majority of the individual event wins, there were some solid Razorback finishes such as Alessia Ferraguti’s second-place finish in the 100-Breaststroke.
“It was important for us to swim, dive, and execute the best race strategies and improved technique today,” commented Harper, “We have pushed this team hard this past week in Florida, and we’ve had to deal with fatigue.” Harper stated that the team’s focus in the second half of the season is preparing for the SEC Championship, and, “we judge our overall team performance based on where we are and where we need to be at this point in the season with five weeks to go until SECs.”
The Razorbacks will host University of Arkansas-Little Rock at home in the Arkansas Natatorium at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 13. The Hogs picked up a win in their first showdown with the in-state rival Trojans in Little Rock in their third meet of the season.
