Hogs Finish Speedo Sectionals with More Gold

Columbia, Mo. – The Speedo Sectionals in Columbia, Mo. came to an end as Arkansas Swimming wrapped up with three more gold medals on the final day.  Swimmer Kobie Melton won a gold medal in the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:02.13. The Razorbacks also put up new championship record times in the 200m Freestyle and 400m Medley relay. The 200m Freestyle relay team won gold with a time of 1:45.34, which is a new record. The 400m Medley relay team, in addition, also won gold with a time of 4:10.15, which is a new record as well. Swimmer Andrea Sansores was awarded the Female Swimmer of the Meet.

“Our small team of Razorbacks finished the meet as strong as they started. It was a great display of fast swimming, and it was great to compete in the presence of many top high school and club swimmers and their coaches.” “We won a lot of medals, broke championship and school records, and created so many new personal bests this week. I am proud of their achievements, which is a great indicator of the hard work and improvement we have already made heading into the fall,” stated head coach Neil Harper.
