
Hogs Host Bears in First of Two Midweek Matchups
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas (23-2), winners of 18 straight midweek contests, hosts Missouri State (10-12) Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium in the first of two midweek matchups this season against its longtime regional rival.
First pitch between the Razorbacks and Bears is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, on SEC Network+ with Brett Dolan (play-by-play) and Troy Eklund (analyst) on the call. The Hogs, off to a 19-0 start at home this season, own a 23-2 overall record through their first 25 games of the year, their best 25-game start to a campaign in program history.
Arkansas and Missouri State will meet again later this season at Hammons Field, home of the St. Louis Cardinals’ Triple-A affiliate Springfield Cardinals. The second and final midweek matchup is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, on ESPN+.
The Hogs moved into the No. 1 spot in the NCBWA poll Monday after their 5-0 week, which included a double midweek series sweep against Oral Roberts before an SEC home weekend series sweep against South Carolina. Arkansas is ranked No. 2 by Baseball America, D1Baseball and in the USA Today Coaches poll, and ranked No. 4 by Perfect Game.

History Lesson
Arkansas is 59-30 all-time against Missouri State, including a 37-15 record in games played in Fayetteville. Under head coach Dave Van Horn, the Razorbacks are 21-11 overall and 13-8 at Baum-Walker Stadium against the Bears.
Best Start in Program History
At 23-2 overall, including a 5-1 mark in conference play, the Razorbacks, powered by the highest-scoring offense of the Dave Van Horn era, are off to their best 25-game start to a season in program history.
With its three-game series sweep against South Carolina, Arkansas improved to 23-2 overall to set a program record for most wins through its first 25 games. The 1982 team began 22-2-1, while the 1996 and 2012 teams both started 22-3.
Midweek Magic
Entering Tuesday’s game against Missouri State, Arkansas has won 18 consecutive midweek contests. The Hogs went 12-0 in midweek games in 2024 and are 6-0 in midweek matchups in 2025 with wins over Grambling, ULM, UCA and ORU. Arkansas’ last midweek loss was against Lipscomb on May 2, 2023, at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Ark.
The Razorbacks went undefeated in midweek games during the 2024 campaign, posting an unbeaten midweek record for the first time since 2005. Arkansas recorded midweek wins against Grambling, UCA, Oral Roberts, Little Rock, Arkansas State and UAPB as well as three two-game midweek series sweeps over San Jose State, Texas Tech and Missouri State to finish last season with a perfect 12-0 midweek record.
In 2005, Dave Van Horn’s third season as head coach, Arkansas went 9-0 in midweek games, including wins against Centenary, Missouri State, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts and Oklahoma State.
30 Seasons of Baum-Walker Stadium
The 2025 campaign marks the 30th season in the history of Baum-Walker Stadium, which opened in 1996. Arkansas won its 700th game at Baum-Walker Stadium against Washington State on Feb. 17 and maintains an all-time record of 715-243 (.746) inside the stadium’s friendly confines entering Tuesday’s midweek game against Missouri State.
Arkansas is off to a perfect 19-0 start at home this season. Since the venue opened, the Razorbacks have recorded six 30-win seasons at Baum-Walker Stadium, accomplishing the feat during the 2004 (31 wins), 2018 (program-record 34 wins), 2019 (33 wins), 2021 (30 wins), 2023 (32 wins) and 2024 (program-record 34 wins) campaigns.
Excluding 2020, the Razorbacks have won 28 or more games in seven consecutive seasons at Baum-Walker Stadium: 2017 (29 wins), 2018 (34 wins), 2019 (33 wins), 2021 (30 wins), 2022 (28 wins), 2023 (32 wins) and 2024 (34 wins).
Go Gold
For the second time this season and fifth time in program history, Arkansas will don gold hats to promote childhood cancer awareness. The Razorbacks wore gold hats in its 9-2 midweek win against UCA on March 11 earlier this season.
Arkansas is 4-0 in its previous childhood cancer awareness games, with victories over Arkansas State in 2021 (W, 8-4) and 2022 (W, 10-1), Missouri State in 2024 (W, 12-7) and UCA in 2025 (W, 9-2).
