Hopkin posts fastest 200 Free in nation, sets school record
The Razorbacks opened day two of the Mizzou Invite at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in impressive fashion led by senior Anna Hopkin.
Hopkin posted the fastest time in the nation this year in the 200 free with a time of 1:44.40 to break her own school record. Her meet-record time also earned her a NCAA ‘B’ qualifier along with Vanessa Herrmann, who touched the wall in 1:00.54 in the 100 breast.
Junior Peyton Pasha set a new personal best in the 400 IM with the fourth-fastest time in the nation this year with a time of 4:11.14. Her swim also notched her a NCAA ‘B’ cut.
Sophomores Kobie Melton and Molly Moore, who both competed in the Finals A 100 back, turned in strong swims on Thursday. Moore came in fifth clocking a lifetime best 54.14. Melton trailed not too far behind, snagging sixth place with a time of 54.34.
“Another strong day for our ladies,” Coach Neil Harper said. “Another school record, a couple of event winners and a lot more personal-best times. We’ve had two good days and now we just need to finish strong tomorrow.”
The Razorbacks will be back tomorrow for the final day of the Mizzou Invite. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. and will be aired on SEC Network+.
