Jacobus Named To The Bowerman Pre-Conference Championships Watch List
NEW ORLEANS – Three-time NCAA champion pole vaulter Lexi (Weeks) Jacobus has been named to The Bowerman 2018 Pre-Conference Championships Watch List, announced Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Jacobus is one of five student-athletes from the Southeastern Conference, including Aleia Hobbs (LSU), Sydney McLaughlin (Kentucky), Keturah Orji (Georgia), and Karissa Schweizer (Missouri) to be featured on the prestigious list of 10.
A five-time first-team All-American, Jacobus finished the indoor season as a bronze medalist at the SEC Indoor meet en route to a third NCAA Championship in her signature event. She holds a personal best in the event of 4.70m/15-5, the No. 2 mark in program history and a clearance which earned her an Olympic berth during her freshman season in 2016.
Competing at the National Relay Championships this past weekend, Lexi Jacobus won the pole vault event title with a mark of 4.51m (14′-9.50″). The event title was Jacobus’ second of the season. The next Watch List will be announced on May 16.
