USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its list of All-Academic individual and team award winners for the 2018 track & field season. Lexi Jacobus was named a 2018 Scholar-Athlete of the Year while the Razorbacks received 16 Individual All-Academic honorees, and the women’s track & field team received All-Academic honors.

The Razorbacks received USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors in recognition of their cumulative team grade-point average of 3.47. Arkansas’ team GPA ranks third in the SEC behind Vanderbilt (3.56), and Alabama (3.53). All told, 361 teams were honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA. Breaking it down further, 220 of those were women’s teams compared to 141 men’s programs.

Junior All-American Lexi Jacobus headlined Arkansas’ scholarly roster which featured 16 individual All-Academic award winners. A three-time national champion in the pole vault, including this past indoor season, and 4.0 chemistry student, Jacobus was named the USTFCCCA Indoor Scholar Field-Athlete of the Year.

Jacobus earns her second-career indoor Scholar Field-Athlete of the Year recognition joining Sandi Morris (2015) as the only other Razorbacks to receive the accolade. Jacobus is also the only Arkansas student-athlete to sweep the award through both seasons, accomplishing the feat back in 2016.
