Jallow-Lockhart earns Region Track Athlete of the Year honor

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas senior Sanu Jallow-Lockhart earned the USTFCCCA South Central Region Track Athlete of the Year as announced on Thursday.

Jallow-Lockhart opened the season with a collegiate record performance in the 600m and claimed a pair of silver medals in the 800m at the SEC and NCAA Indoor meets.

A time of 1:24.19 to win the 600m at the Arkansas Invitational enabled Jallow-Lockhart to break the previous collegiate and school record of 1:25.16 set by Britton Wilson in 2023.

Jallow-Lockhart improved her UA 800m record to 1:59.76 in winning the Tyson Invitational and her time ranks No. 5 on the collegiate all-time list. A time of 2:00.54 earned her the silver medal at NCAA Indoor while a 2:01.12 collected silver at the SEC Indoor behind teammate Analisse Batista.

As Arkansas won the NCAA Indoor 4 x 400m relay with a world-leading time of 3:23.63, Jallow-Lockhart supplied a second leg split of 50.73 on an effort that ranks No. 2 on the all-time collegiate list behind the collegiate record held by the Razorbacks and No. 3 on the world all-time list.

Earlier in the season Jallow-Lockhart split 50.19 as the third leg of a then world-leading Arkansas victory of 3:25.82 at the Tyson Invitational. That split ranked second fastest of the 2026 indoor season and the best third-leg split. On the world all-time list it’s the second fastest third-leg carry ever.
