Killian Inks Deal with Colorado Rockies

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas junior right-hander Trey Killian has officially signed a professional contract with the Colorado Rockies after being selected by the club in the ninth round of the MLB Draft earlier this month.

Killian inks a professional contract with the Rockies after three stellar years for the Razorbacks, including the last two seasons as the team’s Friday night ace. He threw four complete games as a sophomore and added seven quality starts as a junior to post a 3.43 earned run average during his collegiate career.

The Mountain Home, Arkansas native worked at least 6.0 innings in nine of his 15 starts this season and allowed one earned run or less six times. He had his best collegiate outing on March 15, working 7.0 perfect innings at Vanderbilt and striking out six as he retired all 21 batters he faced to earn Louisville Slugger National Pitcher of the Week honors.

Killian ends his collegiate campaign with a .242 batting average against in 217.2 innings of work, while adding 158 strikeouts to just 54 walks.
