Kingsley Garners Attention For Work In Classroom

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior forward Moses Kingsley has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 team, the organization announced on Thursday.

The Abuja, Nigeria, native holds a 3.56 cumulative GPA and is scheduled to graduate this spring with a degree in recreation and sport management. Kingsley became the 40th player in school history to hit the century mark in career scoring this season and joined Oliver Miller as the only players in program history to reach 1,000 points, 600 rebounds and 200 blocks in a career.

He is one of five Division I players named to the All-District 6 team and is the only individual from a high-major program. Of the 11 high-major players named to the eight district teams, Kingsley is one of four representatives from the Southeastern Conference.

A three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, Kingsley is also a part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the SEC Basketball Leadership Council and was the lone SEC male representative at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.

Kingsley’s presence in the community has been felt far and wide. A 2015 SEC Community Service Team member, he is an intern at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club, a camp mentor/instructor for the Special Olympics and a part of the Razorback Leadership Academy.

Kingsley will now be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Among the criteria to be eligible for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and have reached sophomore standing.
