Kozeal Named Perfect Game National Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas infielder Cam Kozeal has been named Perfect Game’s National Player of the Week.

The Razorback first baseman led the SEC in nearly every major offensive category, including hits (9), doubles (3), RBI (13), total bases (18), on-base percentage (.706) and slugging percentage (1.385), in Week 8 of the season, powering the Razorbacks to a weekend series sweep against Missouri as well as their 12th consecutive SEC weekend series win at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Led by Kozeal, who accounted for 13 RBI in the series and single-handedly outscored Missouri in the sweep, the Hogs set their program record for runs in an SEC series, sweeping the Tigers by a combined score of 51-9 over the three-game set. Also named the SEC Player of the Week, Kozeal had multiple hits, including a career high-tying four in the series opener, in all three games of the series, and logged multi-RBI games, including a career-high six RBI in game two, in all three games.

For the season, Kozeal is slashing a team-leading .417/.470/.709 with seven home runs and 37 RBI in 28 games. In SEC play, the Omaha, Neb., native is hitting a team-best .532/.582/.957 with 5 homers and a team-high 26 RBI in 12 games.

Kozeal is the second Razorback to earn national player of the week honors from Perfect Game this season. Fellow infielder Wehiwa Aloy received the award on March 11.
