FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — After recording Arkansas’ first 30-point game of the year on Saturday, junior Daryl Macon has been named the SEC Player of the Week the league office announced Monday morning.

Macon averaged 21.5 points per game as he led Arkansas to a pair of victories last week, including a road win over No. 21 South Carolina. He sealed the victory over the Gamecocks, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the final 15 seconds to give Arkansas a win over a ranked opponent on the road for the first time in three years.

The Little Rock native came back on Saturday and put together the best single-game Razorback performance of the year against Ole Miss, dropping 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting and knocking down six 3-pointers. He became just the fourth Razorback in the SEC era to score 30 points off the bench.

Macon went 10-of-11 from the free throw line last week and ranks fourth in the league at 87.9 percent from the charity stripe. He has scored at least 12 points in 21 of 27 games this season, including 17 of the last 20 contests. Macon is shooting 47.1 percent from behind the arc in the last six games, going 16-of-34 from long range.

Riding a three-game winning streak, Arkansas returns to the court Wednesday evening, welcoming Texas A&M to town for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off on SEC Network.
