FAYETTEVILLE – The #20 Arkansas Razorbacks hit the road to face #25 Alabama in a key SEC matchup Wednesday night (Feb. 18). Tipoff in Tuscaloosa, Ala., is set for 6:00 pm (CT) and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Arkansas and Alabama rank 11th and 3rd, respectively, in the NCAA in scoring, as well as ranking 15th and 9th, respectively, in blocked shots.

After Alabama, Arkansas returns home for a pair of games in Bud Walton Arena. First, the Razorbacks will host Missouri on Saturday (Feb. 21) at 3 pm. Then, the Hogs host Texas A&M on Wednesday (Feb. 25) at 8 pm.

NOTES:

  • This will be the 71st meeting between Arkansas and Alabama. All but 10 have come since Arkansas joined the SEC.
  • The Razorbacks own a 36-33 advantage in the series but Alabama leads 31-29 since Arkansas joined the SEC.
  • The home team has dominated the series. Arkansas is 20-8 versus Alabama in Fayetteville but the Crimson Tide is 24-8 in games played in Tuscaloosa.
  • Alabama has won five straight in the series and six of the last seven.
  • In a scheduling quirk, this will be the 8th time in a 13-game span in the series that the two teams have played in Tuscaloosa.
  • Coach Cal now has 896 wins and is 4 shy of reaching 900 on-court wins as head coach at an NCAA Division I program. Currently, only five coaches have at least 900 wins as head coach while at NCAA Division I programs: Mike Krzyzewski (1,202); Jim Boeheim (1,116); Rick Pitino (905); Roy Williams (903) and Bob Knight (902).
  • IF ARKANSAS GOES 4-0 OVER THE NEXT 4 GAMES: Cal will get 900 wins in 1,183 games coached, tying Coach K for 2nd fastest to 900. If not, Cal has a 37-game cushion over Pitino and will be 3rd fastest. Coach K won 900 games at the age of 64. Cal (turned 67 on Feb 10) will likely be the 2nd youngest to 900 (Bob Knight was 67 and 2+ months).
  • Darius Acuff Jr., IS THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE NCAA to average at least 20 points and 6 assists. In SEC games, he is looking to be the first player (on record) to lead the league in both scoring and assists.
