FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas plays the second of two road games this week as it faces the Auburn Tigers on Saturday (Jan. 10). Tipoff at Neville Arena is set for 5 pm and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Arkansas will be looking to start SEC play with a 3-0 record for just the third time in program history. The Hogs opened 1992-93 with a 3-0 league start and opened 1997-98 SEC slate 3-0.

NOTES:

  • This will be the 62nd meeting between Arkansas and Auburn. All but one (a meeting in the 1967-68 season in Oklahoma City) have come since Arkansas joined the SEC.
  • The Razorbacks own a 38-23 advantage in the series but the Tigers lead 16-13 in games played in Auburn.
  • Auburn, ranked #1 at the time, won the only meeting between the programs last season, 67-60, in Auburn.
  • The two teams will meet again this season, Feb. 14, in Fayetteville.
  • With Arkansas’ win at Ole Miss, Coach Calipari now has 889 on-court wins and is 11 shy of reaching 900 wins as head coach of an NCAA Division I program. St. John’s Rick Pitino (896 wins) and Coach Cal (889) are on pace to reach the 900-win milestone this season.
  • Darius Acuff Jr. has pushed his hot streak to nine games. Over the span, he is averaging 21.9 points and 7.4 assists while shooting 42.9% from 3-point range.
  • Acuff, who averages 19.9 points and 6.2 assists, is 1 of just 3 players in the NCAA to average at least 19 points and six assists, joining Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson (19.6 points and 7.5 assists) and SMU’s Boopie Miller (20.6 points and 7.1 assists).
  • Among NCAA freshmen, Acuff ranks 2nd in assists (6.2), 4th in scoring (19.9), 6th in assist/turnover ratio (2.91) and 7th in 3-pointers made per game (2.33)
