McEntire Named to SEC Community Service for Second Consecutive Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas’ Will McEntire has been named to the SEC Community Service Team for the second consecutive season.

The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its 22 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.

For the second year in a row, McEntire, who was recognized as an SEC Community Service Team honoree in 2024, is donating $5 for every strikeout he records to cancer research. McEntire’s father, now in remission, was diagnosed with cancer when Will was a senior in high school.

Off the field, the Bryant, Ark., native has also worked with numerous non-profit organizations and community centers in Northwest Arkansas, including Squire Jehegan Outreach Center.

McEntire is 1-0 with a 3.05 ERA, 24 strikeouts and one save in 20.2 innings over 15 appearances on the mound this season. The veteran right-hander is limiting opposing hitters to a meager .187 batting average and has issued only three free passes all year.
