
NACAC gold medals for Nickisha Pryce, Krissy Gear in Bahamas
FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – Arkansas alums Nickisha Pryce and Krissy Gear claimed a pair of gold medals at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Senior Championships on Sunday evening.
Pryce won the 400m in 49.95 seconds while Gear finished first in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:35.27.
Finishing behind Pryce in the 400m were Wadeline Venlogh of Haiti (50.23) and American Lynna Irby-Jackson (50.47). NACAC meet record holder Shaunae Miller-Uibo, who ran 49.40 to win the 2022 title, did not start the final.
Gear, who set a career best of 9:11.64 in placing fourth at the USATF Championships this summer, bettered the NACAC field by eight seconds with Canada’s Grace Fetherstonhaugh runner-up in 9:43.91. Gear came within a second of the NACAC meet record of 9:34.36 set by American Gabrielle Jennings in 2022.
Arkansas athletes totaled two gold medals along with a silver and a bronze in the 2025 NACAC Championships.
