NBA #ProHogs Set For 2017-18 Season

Former Razorbacks Joe Johnson, Patrick Beverley and Bobby Portis are all on official NBA rosters as the 2017-18 NBA season tips off with a pair of games on Tuesday night.

Joe Johnson – Utah Jazz (@TheJoeJohnson7)
Johnson is set to begin his 17th season in the NBA and second with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, as the Jazz open the season in Minnesota against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on FSN/ROOT. The first round pick in 2001, Johnson enters the year ranked 32nd all-time in games played with 1,221. Only three active players have played in more games. The veteran has averaged over nine points per game in every season of his career, besides his rookie year, including a 13-season streak of averaging 12 points per game or more. Last season, Johnson broke the 20,000 career points mark, becoming one of 43 players all-time to eclipse the milestone.

Patrick Beverley – Los Angeles Clippers (@patbev21)
Beverley found a new home in the offseason, landing in Los Angeles. The Clippers traded away Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets for three players and a first round draft pick. In five seasons in Houston, Beverley averaged over 28 minutes and nine points per game. The multi-faceted guard has started at least 55 games each of the last four seasons, including all 67 games played last year. The Clippers open the season against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. on TNT.

Bobby Portis – Chicago Bulls (@BPortistime)
Portis and the Bulls tip-off the season on Thursday with a trip to Toronto to take on the Raptors at 6:30 p.m. on TSN. In his second year in the league, Portis recorded 13 starts and averaged 15.6 minutes per game. He saw his field goal percentage increase from 42.7 to 48.8 percent in his second year, averaging 6.8 points per game
