
No. 7 Razorbacks host John McDonnell Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE – No. 7 Arkansas hosts the John McDonnell Invitational on Friday, April 25, with 27 schools entered.
Field events start the competition at 10:30 a.m. while running events begin at 2:45 p.m. Live streaming on SEC Network + begins at 2:45 p.m. Live results are available through flashresults.com at this link.
“The expectation is to always take another step forward,” noted Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “From a team standpoint taking a step forward as a team as we move towards the meet next week at LSU and on the horizon, the SEC Championships in May.”
Teams competing include Allen CC, Arkansas-Fort Smith, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Coffeyville CC, Crowder, Evangel, Harding, Indian Hills CC, Kansas City, Missouri Southern, Missouri State, North Texas, NorthWest Arkansas CC, Oklahoma Baptist, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Pittsburg State, Saint Vincent, Southern Nazarene, Southwest Baptist, Truett-McConnell, Tulsa, UT Tyler, and Wichita State.
“We still have a bit of work to do in the hurdles, 4 x 100m relay, and some general improvement in our other events,” said Bucknam. “We had a good meet with our 1,500m runners out in California.
“We still have a lot of work to do in the field events. Of the events we do, that’s usually the last one that comes into focus. We have some work to do in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump where we have a lot of talent. We just have to be patient.”
Henry Kiner is scheduled to contest the triple jump while the long jump will include Sebastian Berntsen and Link Lindsey along with alum Carey McLeod. Contesting the high jump are Joshua Blakely, Scottie Vines, and Connor Williams.
After breaking the UA 100m record with a 9.98 to win at the Mt. SAC Relays, Jordan Anthony races in the final section of the 200m along with Steven McElroy, Jaden Smith, and Tevijon Williams.
Arkansas alum Lance Lang will race in the final section of the 400m along with Razorbacks Zyaire Nuriddin and Jonah Vigil. Entered in the 110m hurdles are Brevin Sims and Karamoko Sacko along with alum Elijah Morris.
Distance runners contesting the 1,500m are Brian Masai, Tommy Romanow, and Dawson Welch while Elias Schreml is in the 800m.
