Notae a CollegeHoopsToday.com All-American

FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback guard JD Notae was named to the 20-man, CollegeHoopsToday.com All-American team, it was announced today.

Notae was named 1-of-5 players listed as an honorable mention. He was joined on the squad by first-team pick and Player of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe (Kentucky), second-team selection Jabari Smith (Auburn) and third-teamer Walker Kessler (Auburn).

Notae was recently named National and SEC Player of the Week in leading Arkansas to wins at Florida (snapping a 14-game losing streak in Gainesville dating back to 1995) and versus Kentucky. In the win over the Wildcats, he scored 30 points with eight assists to become the first Razorback to reach those totals in a game since the program joined the SEC. Also, he is the first player from the SEC to have at least 30 and 8 versus an AP top 10 team in the last 25 years.

While he only scored 12 points in the LSU win, he is one of just six players in the nation to reach double-figures in every game played this season. However, Notae showed his value in the win by adding seven rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot. In fact, three of his rebounds and two of his assists came in the final five minutes. His last rebound led to him being fouled with eight seconds left and he sank both free throws to provide the eventual game-winning total of 77-76.

Notae is the only player in the SEC to rank among the leagues’ top 15 in scoring (2nd at 18.8 ppg), steals (2nd at 2.14), assists (12th at 3.62) and defensive rebounds (15th and 3.93). (Notae is the only point guard on the defensive rebounding list.)
