Player of the Week
Matt Goodheart
Stats: 4 GP/4 GS, .588/.682/1.529, 10-for-17, 10 R, 1 2B, 5 HR, 10 RBI, 5 BB
Matt Goodheart powered Arkansas and the offense all week long, belting five home runs and driving in 10 runs in four games. His five-homer week featured a home run, including two against UA Pine Bluff, in four consecutive games for the second time this season. Goodheart had multiple hits in all four games played in, totaling a team-best batting average of .588 for the week. He drove in runs in all four games as well, including multi-RBI efforts against UA Pine Bluff and in the finale against Texas A&M.
Pitcher of the Week
Peyton Pallette
Stats: 1 G/1 GS, 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K
Peyton Pallette turned in his first quality start of the year, tossing six scoreless innings in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader against Texas A&M. Making the second SEC start of his career, the right-hander struck out seven Aggies while allowing only three hits without a walk. Pallette’s strong effort on the mound helped Arkansas capture a doubleheader sweep and win its fifth conference series of the year.
Freshman of the Week
Cayden Wallace
Stats: 4 GP/4 GS, .368/.409/.474, 7-for-19, 4 R, 2 2B, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 1 SF
Cayden Wallace continued his tear, recording a hit in all four games played in on the week. Both of his multi-hit efforts came against conference foe Texas A&M, matching his season high of three base knocks in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader. The Greenbrier, Ark., native drove in a run in three of the four games played in, including two in both the first and last game of the series against Texas A&M. The freshman’s fielder’s choice in the 10th inning of game two on Saturday resulted in a throwing error that scored the walk-off, game-winning run.
Razorback Notes
- Arkansas is the only team in the SEC that has won every conference series so far this season.
- After Saturday’s nightcap walk-off win, the Razorbacks became the first team in college baseball to 30 victories.
- Matt Goodheart leads the Hogs in home run with 11 this season after launching his five-homer week. The Razorback slugger has blasted home runs in four consecutive games on two separate occasions this year, also doing so against Memphis and in all three games at Mississippi State (March 24-28).
