Razorbacks Conclude Zone Diving, Majo Sanchez Qualifies in All Three Events
The Arkansas divers wrapped up Zone Diving competition in College Station on Wednesday with platform diving.
Only two Razorbacks competed on the tower, junior Bryze Sanchez and sophomore Majo Sanchez.
In preliminary action, Bryze Sanchez placed 22nd with a total score of 214.35. Majo Sanchez landed in third with a score of 292.65.
The sophomore stud doubled down on her third-place finish in the finals, capping off her contest with a score of 600.45. The Mexico City native replicates her Zone Diving success from last season, qualifying in all three events and keeping her NCAA qualifying rate at a perfect 100% as a Razorback.
“Today was another bittersweet day, Bryze was so close to making finals,” head diving coach Abel Sanchez said. “She dove strong, however, slightly missed a few dives putting her out by six points. Majo had another solid day, punching another ticket to the NCAA Championships. I’m so proud of her for staying ready and consistent. Now we head home, rest a few days, and then head to Atlanta for NCAA’s.”
Arkansas will return to action at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta beginning on Wednesday, March 18.
