Razorbacks crush UA distance medley relay record

FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorbacks started the Arkansas Qualifier with a strong statement in breaking the UA record in the distance medley relay by five-plus seconds at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

A foursome of Ainsley Erzen (3:20.22), Sanaria Butler (50.58), Makenna Herbst (2:05.03), and Sydney Vaught (4:28.26) combined to produce a time of 10:44.09 as Arkansas finished runner-up to a 10:43.10 by Oklahoma State, which ranks No. 2 on the all-time collegiate list with the No. 2 performance.

The Razorbacks bettered the school record of 10:49.14 set in 2023, which included Mary Ellen Eudaly, Amber Anning, Lainey Quandt, and Lauren Gregory. The improved time for Arkansas ranks No. 4 on the all-time collegiate list.

Analisse Batista cruised to a career best of 51.54 in the 400m, moving her to No. 10 on the UA all-time list. She is also No. 3 on the 800m UA all-time list with a 2:01.60 from 2025. Batista defeated Arkansas alum Rosey Effiong (52.57) in the first section.

Arkansas alum Paris Peoples won the second section in 51.95 over Bailey Lear (52.28) and Razorback Abigail Campbell, who set a career best of 53.80. The third section included Arianna Sharpe (53.53) and Amirah Sharpe (53.80) in first and third.

Madeleine Gear set a career best of 2:05.22 in winning the second section of the 800m over a 2:05.55 by Paige Stuart of Oklahoma State. Josphine Mwaura claimed the women’s mile in 4:46.78 over a 4:52.48 by Oklahoma State’s Lauren Ping.

Effiong won the 200m in 23.09 as Peoples placed third in 23.70. Current Razorbacks in the race included Arianna Sharpe (23.85), Amirah Sharpe (24.14), Rae-Anne Serville (24.60), and Gabriella Cunningham (24.83), who set a career best of 8.39 in the 60m hurdles.
