Razorbacks head to College Station for the SEC Championship

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – Arkansas swim and dive is headed for College Station, Texas to compete in the 2023 SEC Championships, which run from Tuesday, Feb. 14 to Saturday, Feb. 18. The SEC Championships feature the Tennessee Volunteers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, Florida Gators, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Opponents: #9 Tennessee Volunteers, #25 South Carolina Gamecocks, #7 Alabama Crimson Tide, #10 Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, #18 Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, #12 Georgia Bulldogs, #18 Texas A&M Aggies, #6 Florida Gators, and Vanderbilt Commodores

Dates: Tuesday, Feb. 14 – Saturday 18

Location: College Station, Texas

Dive Time: 9:30 A.M. CT Prelims | 5:30 P.M. CT Finals

Scouting the Volunteers
Tennessee is currently ranked 9th in the country. The Volunteers have wins over Missouri, #12 Georgia, and UNC Wilmington. Tennessee is also the reigning SEC Champion of the 2021-22 season.

Scouting the Gamecocks
The Gamecocks are ranked 25th in the country. South Carolina is coming off a loss to the #12 Georgia, in which the Gamecocks put up a score of 119 to Georgia’s 181.

Scouting the Crimson Tide
The Crimson Tide is sitting in seventh spot in the current rankings. In Alabama’s recent meet, the Tide beat Auburn 155-145.

Scouting the Wildcats
Kentucky beat Cincinnati on Friday Jan. 27 and outscored its opponent 210-85. The Wildcats check in at 10th nationally.

Scouting the Missouri Tigers
Missouri recently competed at the Air Force Dive Invite and earned a 199-88 win against Southern Illinois University.

Scouting the Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers, currently 18th in the country, just hosted the Auburn Invitational and fell to the Crimson Tide.

Scouting the LSU Tigers
In their last competitive match on Saturday Jan. 21, LSU lost to Texas A&M 177-123.

Scouting the Bulldogs
In their last two matchups Georgia has split with Emory and Tennessee. The Bulldogs beat Emory 172 -105 but lost to Tennessee 180 -120. Georgia is currently ranked 12^th in the nation.

Scouting the Aggies
The Aggies are on a four-meet winning streak. Texas A&M has wins against Georgia Tech, SCAD, LSU, and SMU. The Aggies sit at 18 in the February rankings.

Scouting the Gators
The Gators have a record 6-0 on the year, in which the Gators have a win over the #7 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. They are currently ranked 6^th in the nation. Florida is also coming off a win against Florida State where they put up a team score of 191-103.

Scouting the Commodores
The Commodores are 5-4-1 on the season. Vanderbilt pulled out a win against Little Rock by beating them 170 – 72.5. Vandy also loss to Arkansas 181-62 in that same meet.

Last Time Out

The Razorbacks defeated the Commodores 181-62, and won over Little Rock 198-45.Bella Cothern, Andrea Sansores, Alessia Ferraguti, and Kobie Melton won the 200 Medley relay with a time of 3:22.97.
Junior Grace Walker had a platform score of 250.15 and a three-meter dive score of 262.15.
Grad student Alessia Ferraguti won the 100-individual medley with a time of 56.97
