Razorbacks Kick Off SEC Competition Versus South Carolina
The Arkansas swim and dive team prepares to open SEC competition at home against South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 11.
This will be the first meeting between the Razorbacks and Gamecocks since 2018, when South Carolina won by a score of 188-132. The Gamecocks have an 11-4 series lead and currently hold a three-meet winning streak against the Hogs. Arkansas looks to grab its first win against South Carolina since the 2012-13 season.
“They [South Carolina] swam lights out and beat #12 Georgia, their swimmers are well prepared,” head coach Neil Harper said. “We expect to get the Gamecocks best performances. We have continued to work hard in the pool and weight room to best prepare our team. Our goal is to confidently compete and enjoy our first SEC dual meet of the season.”
“We are excited to host South Carolina,” head diving coach Abel Sanchez said. “They have an amazing diver in Sophie Verzyl, who is one of the best in the country. It is always great to be able to measure yourself against one of the best. This will be an exciting competition with plenty of great performances.”
The meet will officially begin at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas Natatorium, with doors opening at 9 a.m. The first 100 fans can receive a pink Razorbacks swim cap along with a team poster as they enter.
