Razorbacks Open Season With Win at Home
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks started their 2023-2024 season in spectacular fashion at home on Friday, posting a score of 167.5 over SEC opponent Kentucky’s score of 131.5. The Hogs won 10 events including first and second place finishes in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Swimming coach Neil Harper said that he was proud of the senior members of the team for how they prepared the rest of the team leading into the meet. Senior Bella Cothern picked up two first place finishes in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, and Alessia Ferraguti also notched two wins in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. Sophomore Betsy Wizard won two events as well, the 100 and 200 Butterfly.
In the diving tank, Malea Martinez and Lauren French posted second and third place finishes, respectively, in both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter diving competitions. Isa Perreira finished fourth in the 3-Meter competition.
Hog Highlights
- Veteran Razorback swimmers Cothern, Ferraguti, and Wizard picked up two wins each.
- First-year swimmers Gracie Colvin and Bara Matoskova each earned a win.
