Razorbacks Rout UALR

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Hogs made a stop in Little Rock to face off against in-state opponent University of Arkansas-Little Rock for a non-conference meet on the the home stretch of a road trip that took the Razorbacks to Baton Rouge where they faced off with the LSU Tigers.

The Razorbacks were dominant all meet, winning 12 of 16 events. Head swimming coach Neil Harper reflected on the team’s performance, stating, “We had every opportunity to have a letdown today and we didn’t.” With 21 hours separating the start of yesterday’s contest at LSU and today’s matchup, the Razorbacks had to bounce back and push themselves to earn their third win of the season. “I challenged the team to stay focused, race tired, and represent the Razorbacks with pride and that’s exactly what they did,” said Harper of the team, all of whom showcased grit and determination today.

In the dive tank, Malea Martinez placed first in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving followed by Lauren French who earned second-place finishes in both events. Isa Perreira finished fourth in 1-meter diving, but outscored UALR’s Kyra Apodaca to finish third in 3-meter diving.
