
Sanu Jallow-Lockhart breaks UA 800m record with 1:59.77 win
FAYETTEVILLE – A third Arkansas school record was broken during the second day of the Tyson Invitational as Sanu Jallow-Lockhart posted a winning time of 1 minute, 59.77 seconds to break the previous mark held by Shafiqua Maloney.
Jallow-Lockhart bettered her previous indoor best of 2:01.77 in bettering the Arkansas standard of 2:01.22 set by Maloney in 2021. She also improved her Gambian national record.
Taking over the collegiate leading time for this season, Jallow-Lockhart ranks No. 4 in the world for 2025. On the all-time collegiate list she ranks as the No. 4 performer with the No. 6 performance.
Ranking ahead of Jallow-Lockhart on the collegiate all-time list are Athing Mu of Texas A&M (1:58.40), LSU’s Michaela Rose (1:59.25), and Stanford’s Juliette Whittaker (1:59.53). The other collegian with a sub-2:00 is Stanford’s Roisin Willis (1:59.93).
Finishing behind Jallow-Lockhart in the race was Mallory Lineman at 2:03.37 while a trio of Razorbacks finished among the top 6. Anna Podojil set a career best of 2:03.38 to move to No. 9 on the UA all-time list. Ainsley Erzen clocked 2:03.77 to finish fourth and Analisse Batista set a career best of 2:03.85 in sixth place.
Arkansas alum Amber Anning paced the field through 600m with splits of 27.01, 29.90 (56.91), 32.01 (1:28.92).
Jallow-Lockhart closed out the meet running an anchor leg of 52.14 as Arkansas won the 4 x 400m relay in 3:27.83 over the professional group Hurdle Mechanic (3:28.03) along with Central Florida (3:29.93) and a second Razorback crew (3:29.98).
Kayla Davis led off the winning UA group with a 53.13 while Jamaican Stacey Ann Williams split 51.35 on the first leg for Hurdle Mechanic. While Anna Cockrell split 52.01 on the second leg, Isabella Whittaker countered with a 50.37 as Arkansas closed the gap significantly (1:43.36 to 1:43.50).
The second leg split by Whittaker is the second fastest ever by a collegian indoors and fourth fastest in the world all-time.
Then the Razorbacks moved into the lead as Ashanti Denton split 52.19 while racing against Dalilah Muhammad (52.45). Going into the anchor leg, UA held a slight edge (2:35.69 to 2:35.81). Andrenette Knight split 52.22 as the anchor leg for the pro group.
Running on the second Razorback relay were Podojil (53.89), Sanaria Butler (51.46), Aaliyah Pyatt (52.46), and Joanne Reid (52.19).
Defending NCAA Indoor champion Rachel Glenn secured a second high jump victory with a clearance of 6-3.25 (1.91) while Sharie Enoe of Kansas State and Missouri’s Kristi Perez-Snyman each cleared 6-2 (1.88) in placing second and third.
Razorback Sydney Billington finished fourth with a career best height of 6-0.75 (1.85), which moved her to No. 3 on the UA all-time list.
Skye Tolbert won the pole vault with a career best height of 13-11 (4.24) to better her previous best of 13-3.5 (4.05) and then attempted 14-7.25 (4.45). Oklahoma State’s Lauren Smith and Tessani Foster of Oklahoma tied for second place as each cleared 13-5 (4.09).
The Invitational pole vault was claimed by Oklahoma’s Olivia Lueking, who cleared 15-0.75 (4.59).
Anya Jackson led the Razorback sprint crew in the 200m with a career best 23.37 to finish third in her section behind overall winner Adriana Tatum of Arizona State, who clocked 23.00 while LSU’s Ella Onojuwevwo finished second in 23.11.
Arkansas’ Na’Taja Ballard set a career best of 23.45 in finishing third in another section of the 200m while Denton posted a 23.63 as runner-up to Colombia’s Samantha Gonzalez (23.60).
In the mile, UA alum Stephanie Brokaw placed second in 4:39.81 behind TCU’s Tabitha Ngao (4:39.08) while Sydney Thorvaldson finished seventh overall with a 4:43.13. Razorbacks racing in the mile included Olivia Pielemeier (4:53.93), Morgan Kirkland (4:56.06), and Mackenzie Rogers (4:59.16).
Bradley Weimer won her debut at 5,000m in 16:50.02 over Florida’s Liina Winborn (17:03.81).
