Six ProHogs on MLB Opening Day Rosters

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Six ProHogs are set to begin the 2025 Major League Baseball season.

Pitcher Jalen Beeks (Texas Rangers), outfielder Andrew Benintendi (Chicago White Sox), outfielder Heston Kjerstad (Baltimore Orioles), catcher James McCann (Arizona Diamondbacks), pitcher Peyton Pallette (Cleveland Guardians) and pitcher Ryne Stanek (St. Louis Cardinals) are on MLB Opening Day rosters as the 2026 campaign gets underway Thursday, March 26.

Stanek is the most recent ProHog to win a World Series championship, doing so with the Houston Astros in 2022 to become the sixth former Razorback to accomplish the feat. The right-hander joined Dick Hughes (1967 – St. Louis Cardinals), Eric Hinske (2007 – Boston Red Sox; 2009 – New York Yankees), Dallas Keuchel (2017 – Houston Astros), Benintendi (2018 – Boston) and Smyly (2021 – Atlanta Braves) in the elite company.

Entering the 2026 season, Arkansas has produced 66 big leaguers in its storied program history. The Razorbacks have also had at least one player selected in each of the past 51 MLB drafts dating back to 1975.
