Smith Makes Collegiate National Team Roster
CARY, N.C. – Arkansas pitcher Hagen Smith has earned a spot on the 31-man Collegiate National Team roster that will represent Team USA in a pair of five-game series against Chinese Taipei and Japan from June 30-July 12.
Smith was named to the final squad after the completion of the Collegiate National Team Training Camp, a four-game intrasquad series played at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The Razorback left-hander made one start on the mound in training camp, striking out three over 2 1/3 innings of work.
The 20th USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series is set for June 30-July 4, with games at the National Training Complex, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C., Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, N.C., and Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C.
The National Training Complex will also host the opening three games of the 44th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series from July 7-9. Games four and five of the series will be played at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Ballpark in Charleston, S.C., on July 11 and 12.
Smith is the 22nd Razorback since 1979 to play for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. The full 2023 Collegiate National Team roster is below:
