Smith Named AFL Fall Star

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Razorback ace and current Chicago White Sox prospect Hagen Smith is a 2025 Fall Star.

Smith, selected by the White Sox with the fifth overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft, will represent the American League in the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game on Sunday, Nov. 9. The game will broadcast live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 7 p.m. CT from Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz.

The White Sox’s No. 5 prospect has dazzled through his first five starts in the desert, boasting a 2.57 ERA with 21 strikeouts across 14.0 innings of work. Smith has allowed just four runs on seven hits and six walks.

Smith, the highest-drafted pitcher in program history, finished his collegiate career as Arkansas’ all-time strikeout leader (360) following a historic junior campaign. The Bullard, Texas, native was the national pitcher of the year as well as a unanimous All-American in 2024 after making 16 starts on the mound and posting a 9-2 record with 2.04 ERA and a single-season program record 161 strikeouts in 84.0 innings. Smith led the country with an NCAA-record 17.25 strikeouts per nine innings.
