Terry Mercer

A major component of the University of Arkansas basketball program, Terry Mercer is in her 43rd year as the executive assistant for Razorback basketball in 2020-21. Her friendly demeanor welcomes visitors to the offices at the Basketball Performance Center.

Mercer, whose career has spanned six head coaches from Eddie Sutton to Eric Musselman.

She handles all correspondence for Coach Musselman and helps with the administrative details of the Razorback Basketball Camps in addition to organizing Musselman’s schedule. Other duties include coordinating Coach Musselman’s speaking engagements and handling the day-to-day business for the basketball staff.

Mercer has enjoyed the success of the Razorback program, making four trips to the Final Four and 25 NCAA Tournament excursions.

A native of Princeton, North Carolina, she graduated from Saratoga High School in 1972, she worked for Southern Piping Company in Wilson, North Carolina, for six years before her husband, Elton, was transferred to Fayetteville.

She and Elton have a daughter, Heather (Husband Ryan), a son, Jacob (Wife Danielle), and four granddaughters, Caitlyn (16), Kenleigh (13), Lauren (17) and Laney (10).
