Three Hogs called on final day of NFL Draft

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The NFL Draft concluded on Saturday evening in Pittsburgh with three more Arkansas Razorbacks – Mike Washington Jr., Fernando Carmona and Taylen Green – hearing their names called to bring the total to four Hogs selected over the three days of the Draft, the most since 2016 when five Razorbacks were selected.

Washington Jr. was the first off the board on Saturday when the Las Vegas Raiders tabbed the running back with the 122nd overall pick in the fourth round. Washington is the first Arkansas player picked by the Raiders’ franchise since Tyler Wilson in 2013 when he was also a fourth-round selection of the then Oakland Raiders. Washington’s selection made him the first Hogs’ running back drafted since David Williams in 2018 when he was tabbed by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round.

In his lone season at Arkansas, Washington was sensational rushing for 1,070 yards to become the 16th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark and first since Raheim Sanders in 2022. The Utica, N.Y. native earned Second-Team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches and the Associated Press after posting five 100-yard games and finishing fifth in the league in rushing. He ran for a career-best 147 yards on 16 carries vs. No. 4 Texas A&M after running for 131 yards on 19 carries at No. 12 Tennessee the week prior.

Washington began his career at Buffalo (2021-23) before spending a single season at New Mexico State (2024). During his five-year college career, he ran for 2,914 yards on 587 carries across 51 games (22 starts) with 26 touchdowns.

Carmona was selected in the fifth round with the 142nd pick by the Tennessee Titans. The Titans picked a Razorback for the first time since taking Treylon Burks in the first round in 2022.

Carmona was a two-time All-SEC selection, earning third-team honors as a left tackle in 2024 before picking up second-team recognition as a left guard last season. He helped pave the way for six games of 500+ yards of total offense in 2025. The Las Vegas native began his career at San Jose State and started all 49 games in his college career.

Green became the first Arkansas quarterback to be drafted since Brandon Allen was taken by Jacksonville in 2016 when he was selected with the first pick (152) of the sixth round. Green is the first Razorback taken by Cleveland since 1999 when the Browns took the legendary Madre Hill. Green is just the 11th Arkansas quarterback drafted and fourth since 1980.

Green put together an impressive career beginning at Boise State (2021-23) before playing two seasons at Arkansas. The Lewisville, Texas native played in 53 games with 46 starts while passing for 9,662 yards with 59 touchdowns and adding 2,405 yards and 35 more touchdowns. For the Hogs, Green passed for 5,868 yards while running for 1,379 yards for a total of 7,247 yards, good enough for sixth all-time at Arkansas despite playing just two seasons.

The three Arkansas players selected Saturday joined Julian Neal, who was picked in the third round on Friday by Seattle. With four Razorbacks drafted over the three days, the Arkansas program now has had at least one selection in 31 consecutive drafts with multiple picks in 15 of the last 16 drafts.
