Three Razorbacks Named Semifinalists for Dick Howser Trophy
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kuhio Aloy, Wehiwa Aloy and Charles Davalan have been named three of 67 semifinalists for the 2025 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear. The national award has been given to the country’s top college baseball player as voted on by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association members since 1987.
Given in memory of the former Florida State All-America shortstop and major league player and manager who died of brain cancer in 1987, the Dick Howser Trophy is regarded by many as college baseball’s most prestigious award. Criteria for consideration of the trophy include performance on the field, leadership, moral character and courage.
Arkansas is one of four schools, along with Florida State, Tennessee and Texas, with three semifinalists for this year’s Dick Howser Trophy. Two Razorbacks – Andrew Benintendi (2015) and Kevin Kopps (2021) – have previously won the Dick Howser Trophy. Both Benintendi and Kopps also won the prestigious Golden Spikes Award in their respective years.

Wehiwa Aloy, the older brother of Kuhio, has emerged as a superstar in his second season as a Razorback, slashing a team-leading .364/.450/.687 with a team-high 17 home runs and 54 RBI through 52 games on the year. The shortstop currently leads the SEC in numerous offensive categories, including runs scored (68), hits (78) and total bases (147).
