Two Razorbacks Land on College World Series All-Tournament Team

OMAHA, Neb. – Arkansas’ Justin Thomas Jr. and Gage Wood were voted to the College World Series All-Tournament Team by members of the media.

Thomas Jr. slashed a team-leading .571/.571/.643 (8-for-14) with three RBI and a team-high two stolen bases during the Hogs’ four-game stay in Omaha. The Razorback outfielder logged three multi-hit games in the College World Series, highlighted by his career high-matching four base knocks vs. Murray State (June 16).

Wood, meanwhile, delivered one of the most legendary pitching performances in college baseball history, twirling a 119-pitch no-hitter with program-record 19 strikeouts in Arkansas’ 3-0 win vs. Murray State (June 16). It was the third no-hitter thrown in the College World and the first since 1960, and his strikeout total set a College World Series single-game record.

Thomas Jr. and Wood are the 13th and 14th Razorbacks in program history to earn College World Series All-Tournament selections. Wood is just the third Arkansas pitcher to accomplish the feat, joining LHP Steve Krueger (1979) and RHP Blaine Knight (2018).
