Two-time defending champion Arkansas leads NCAA entries

FAYETTEVILLE – Two-time defending NCAA Indoor champion Arkansas will carry a No. 1 national ranking into the 2025 national championship meet in Virginia next week with a leading number of 13 entries in nine events.

The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held on March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The full list of women’s entries are available here: https://www.rtspt.com/ncaa/d1indoor25/women_accepted.htm.

Following the Razorbacks in total entries are Illinois (11), Oregon (10), Stanford (9), Texas Tech (9), USC (9), BYU (8), LSU (8), Tennessee (8), Georgia (7), and Oklahoma (7).

National rankings following the conference weekend have Arkansas in the No. 1 position ahead of Oregon, BYU, Georgia, Texas Tech, Illinois, Stanford, LSU, Washington, and Oklahoma.

Last season, in Arkansas women’s head coach Chris Johnson’s first season as head coach, the Razorbacks qualified a leading 17 entries.

Defending NCAA Indoor champion Rachel Glenn is the top seed in the high jump with a leading mark of 6-6 (1.98) from her SEC Indoor victory. She equaled the collegiate record of 6-6.75 (2.00) in winning the NCAA title a year ago. Joining Glenn in the event is Sydney Billington.

Seeded second in their respective events are Isabelle Whittaker with a 49.90 in the 400m as Sanu Jallow-Lockhart with a 1:59.77 in the 800m. They each have a teammate in the same event with them.

Kaylyn Brown set an indoor career best of 50.70 as the SEC bronze medalist and is the third seed in the 400m field. Analisse Batista registered a career best of 2:01.60 and is seeded 13th in the 800m field. Brown ranks No. 5 on the UA all-time list, Batista moved to No. 3.

The Razorback 4 x 400m relay is seeded third with a 3:27.47 behind Georgia (3:26.42) and South Carolina (3:27.24).

Paityn Noe, the SEC Indoor high point scorer, is seeded sixth in the 5,000m and 15th in the 3,000m. Noe broke Arkansas school records in both events this season as a redshirt freshman with times of 8:47.17 and 15:11.27.

Another Razorback entered in two events is Nia Robinson in the long jump and triple jump. Funminiyi Olajid, Arkansas school record holder in the long jump, is seeded fifth in the NCAA field. Robinson is seeded 11th and 14th in the two events.

A career best of 22.87 has Anya Jackson seeded 13th in the 200m, where she is one of three freshman in the field.

Each event will have 16 athletes entered except for 12 each in the two relay events. The Razorbacks streak of five consecutive years of qualifying in both relays was stopped as the distance medley relay did not qualify this season.
