10 Things To Know – Auburn

Arkansas, led by interim head coach Bobby Petrino, continues its homestand at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium with an SEC showdown against Auburn. Kickoff is slated for 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. The game will be televised on SEC Network.

1 RB Mike Washington Jr. eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the sixth time in his career and third time this season with 147 yards on 16 carries in last week’s game against No. 4 Texas A&M. Washington, who also rushed for 131 yards on 19 carries at Tennessee on Oct. 11, became the first Razorback to rush for 100+ yards in consecutive games against an SEC opponent since Alex Collins in 2015. Collins accomplished the feat against LSU (16 rushes, 141 yards, 2 TD) and Ole Miss (17 rushes, 108 yards).

2WR O’Mega Blake leads the Hogs with 42 receptions for 582 yards and four touchdowns this season. He has led Arkansas in both receptions and receiving yards in five of its seven games played. Blake leads the SEC and is tied for fifth nationally in receiving plays over 10+ yards with 27.

3 – Saturday’s matchup will be the 34th meeting between the programs, with Auburn leading the all-time series 20-12-1.  The Razorbacks have won two of the past three matchups against the Tigers, including a 24-14 triumph at Auburn in the last meeting on Sept. 21, 2024.

4 – Arkansas is one of two teams nationally with five games of 500+ yards of total offense this season, alongside Texas Tech. The Razorbacks and Red Raiders are the only teams nationally to rank in the top 20 in both passing and rushing offense. Arkansas ranks 18th nationally in passing offense (288.4) and 14th in rushing offense (225.3) while Texas Tech ranks ninth in passing offense (302.7) and 18th in rushing offense (215.1).

5 – Led by P Devin Bale, Arkansas leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally in net punting average (45.53). Bale who is averaging 47.2 yards per punt would be tied for 7th among all FBS punters in net punting average if he had enough punts to qualify.

6 – With two rushing touchdowns last week against fourth-ranked Texas A&M, QB Taylen Green moved into fifth in career rushing touchdowns by an Arkansas quarterback with 13. It marked Green’s fourth multi-rushing TD game as a Hog and his first this season. It was his ninth multi-rushing TD game of his career.

7 – Through seven games, QB Taylen Green leads the country in both yards of total offense (2,499) and yards of total offense per game (357.0). Green also ranks in the top 20 nationally in passing touchdowns (17, 8th) and passing yards (1,910, 12th).

8 – The Razorbacks’ 213 consecutive extra-points made streak, which began on Dec. 5, 2020, is the second-longest such streak nationally based on date, behind Northwestern (Oct. 24, 2020). Freshman kicker Scott Starzyk has made all 29 of his point-after attempts this season.

9 – Under the guidance of interim head coach Bobby Petrino, Arkansas leads the nation in offensive scrimmage plays of 10+ and 20+ yards this season with 141 and 54, respectively. The Hogs also rank third in scrimmage plays of 30+ yards with 25.

10 – The Razorbacks’ five games of 500+ yards of total offense this season are tied for the most in a single season in program history. Arkansas also had five games of 500+ yards in 2022.
