10 Things to Know - BYU

Arkansas will play under the lights at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium for the first time this season when it hosts Big 12 foe BYU on Saturday, Sept. 16. Kickoff between the Hogs and Cougars is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

1. – With a win against BYU, Arkansas would start 3-0 for the third consecutive season under head coach Sam Pittman. The Razorbacks have not started 3-0 in three consecutive seasons since 1977-1979 under the legendary Lou Holtz.

2. – Saturday will be just the second meeting between Arkansas and BYU. Last season, Arkansas clinched a convincing 52-35 victory in Provo, Utah.

3. – The Razorback defense turned in a dominant effort in the win against Kent State, limiting the Golden Flashes to 200 yards of total offense. Arkansas racked up 11 tackles for loss, including seven sacks, and returned an interception for a touchdown for the second consecutive game for the first time since 2016.

4. – The Razorback defense held Kent State to 26 rushing yards, the fewest rushing yards by an Arkansas opponent since 2017 when the Razorback defense limited New Mexico State to 11 rushing yards.

5. – Saturday night’s game against BYU marks Pittman’s 39th game as the head coach at Arkansas. Of those 39 games, 33 have been against an opponent from the SEC, a Power 5 foe and/or an opponent ranked in the AP Top 25 poll.

6. – K Cam Little is 33-of-40 (82.5%) on field goal attempts, including a 23-of-24 (95.8%) mark on field goals from inside 40 yards, with a pair of career-long makes from 51 yards. His career field goal percentage (82.5%) currently ranks first all-time in Arkansas history (minimum 20 made field goals). Little is a perfect 108-for-108 on point after attempts in his career. He ranks eighth in program history in both point after attempts (108) and point after attempts made (108). Little owns the Arkansas record for consecutive PATs made.

7. – The Razorback offense is a perfect 8-for-8 (all touchdowns) in the red zone this season. Through two games, Arkansas is the only SEC team that is perfect in red zone conversions with all touchdowns.

8. – QB KJ Jefferson has thrown at least two touchdowns in each of his last six games under center. He has thrown at least one touchdown in 13 consecutive games dating back to the start of the 2022 season.

9. – RB AJ Green started in place of the injured RB Raheim “Rocket” Sanders in Arkansas’ win against Kent State and ran for 82 yards on a career-high 15 carries (5.5 ypc). For his career, Green has totaled 743 yards and four rushing scores on 157 carries (5.7 ypc) over 27 games.

10. – LB Jaheim Thomas had a career day in Arkansas’ win against the Golden Flashes, tallying his second double-digit tackle game of the season with a career-high 12 total stops and two tackles for loss, including a career-high 1.5 sacks. The Cincinnati transfer ranks third among SEC defenders in total tackles (20) through two games this season.
